Customer value

VeriSilicon's hardware design team needed a video analysis tool that could make objective video quality assessments to assist them on hardware video encoding projects. The analyzer had to have the HRD Buffer View function and had to work with all modern codecs, including VVC and AV1.

These critical features, including the ability to calculate all metrics (PSNR, SSIM) and the Buffer View option (including the HRD sub-mode), made VQ Analyzer the right fit for the design team. Incorporating metrics from the software into their design process has allowed VeriSilicon to pursue the cutting edge of video coding technology.

Customer testimonial

Finding the best product is no small feat, especially in the domain of encoder design. VQ Analyzer was the exact tool that our engineers needed. Besides its robust set of analysis tools, one of VQ Analyzer’s most exciting features is its statistics functionality. It can gather information about a full video stream, or a particular frame within a video stream and write it to a single text file. These debugging tools let our codec engineers investigate inefficiencies and trace them back to the design decisions that caused them.
