Motion Vector

A motion vector is a two-dimensional vector that provides an offset from the coordinates of a macroblock in the decoded picture to the coordinates of a macroblock in a reference picture. Motion vectors are used in video compression by storing the reference frame and changes between the next frame and the reference frame instead of storing two frames.
