VQ Probe 3.5 is out now!

Today we’re excited to launch the newest version of VQ Probe, a visual instrument for objective and subjective video quality comparison. Try VQ Probe 3.5 now!

What's new in VQ Probe v3.5

Ability to use cached results for files that are no longer present in the project file

We have added the ability to use “old” cached results: if there are cached results for files that are no longer present in the project file, VQ Probe will load these results as well.

Added the ability to build optimal encoding ladders

VQ Probe is now able to build optimal encoding ladders. Go to Metrics Log and click the Optimal Encoding Ladder button to build a ladder for different bitrates and resolutions. These optimal encoding ladders can be exported in JSON format.

Ability to minimize the player

You can now minimize the player (Playback View + Main Control Panel) by clicking F12Project ViewLog View, and Metrics View will be detached from the main window; the main window itself will be minimized.

Added the ability to save video

We have also added the ability to save the current video (including all visible labels, ROIs, found objects, etc.). Click the Playback > Save Video menu item, select a save path, and wait for the process to complete.

Ability to hide the zoom ratio label

We have added the ability to hide the zoom ratio label. Choose the View > Show Zoom Ratio menu item to toggle the zoom ratio label.

New CLI features

We have added several new features to the CLI version of VQ Probe:

  • added the ability to use multiple --distorted in one command line
  • added the ability to use cached results

Miscellaneous

  • VQ Probe is now updated to VMAF 3.0.0 and dAV1d 1.4.0.
  • Fixed a problem with IPP libraries on Linux
