VQ Probe 2.3 is released!

What's new in VQ Probe v2.3

New metrics: CAMBI, CIEDE2000, MS-SSIM

We have added the ability to use three new metrics in VQ Probe:

  • CAMBI (or Contrast Aware Multiscale Banding Index) is Netflix's detector for banding (aka contouring) artifacts. For an introduction to CAMBI, please refer to this article.
  • CIEDE2000 is a metric that is used for computing color differences.
  • MS-SSIM (or MultiScale SSIM) is a more advanced form of SSIM. It is performed over multiple scales through a process of multiple stages of sub-sampling. Read more.

UX improvements

We have replaced spinboxes with visible buttons in the Start/End columns to make source files trimming easier to use. We have also added the ability to build Buffer View for every stream by pressing the Buffer View button for a particular stream.

UX improvements

Faster SSIM calculation

We have increased the speed of SSIM calculation: up to 4 times faster (measured on Windows 10, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10300H 2.50GHz, 16GB RAM).

Detachable Views

Project View and Metrics View can now be easily detached and placed wherever you like on your screen.
